Frank Eye first started using photography whilst working in France in the 1970’s to make albums to show back at home on holiday in England. He also took up amateur super 8 film making.
Redundancy brought an opportunity to study photography more seriously.
Work:
2005-7: 444 Former Filling Stations a typology of medium format black and white images of sites of change. Archive, travelling exhibition, and book.
2006: Liebesgeshichte an artist’s book with text and photographs about love and betrayal in war. The mixture of colour photos by the artist and black and white found photos question the truth of photographs as a story-telling medium.

2005: Without Trial a multi-media installation commemorating victims of institutional murder in a prison camp. Nominated as finalist in Degree show awards.

2005: Grandma’s Pan a series of large format black and white still lifes, about family issues.
